You Stay Young If You Eat Straight Sugar From a Spoon, Right???

I'm not much of a candy eater. I've mentioned this before. I take my sugar with flour, baking powder and eggs, baked, please.

Sugar is just too sweet for me now. Especially candy. Especially milk chocolate candy. And marshmallow candy. And sugary-crystal-coated candy.

But every year I eat just one Peep, out of respect for my childhood. As a child I loved Peeps. I no longer love Peeps. I might even be just a little bit disgusted by Peeps. But I think part of me fears that I will be betraying my inner child if I shun the Peeps completely. So I pay my homage to the Gods of Continuous Youth by eating sickeningly sweet seasonal children's candy and hope for the best: one yellow peep and one Cadbury cream egg, every Easter. Like medicine. GAG. (Shhh, don't tell The Gods. Cadbury Cream Eggs were my absolute DREAM candy as a child. A chocolate egg with an egg yolk made out of pure liquid sugar? Are you kidding me?!?)

I seriously hope it's keeping the wrinkles away. Please tell me it's keeping the wrinkles away. 'Cause it sure as hell isn't helping my hips.

I can't do it. I can't eat a Peep. It's like the candy equivalent of sticking my finger down my throat.

I'd rather die than eat a Peep.

You MUST eat Peeps because your beloved daddy loved them and insisted on them every Easter!

And didn't you know that fat women have fewer wrinkles because the underlying adipose bloats the skin? (a cheery picture!)

Peeps are prison food..that is what I've decided. If people in prison were forced to eat Peeps they would NEVER commit another crime. And if people knew they would have to eat Peeps in prison the crime rates would drop.

Except for my husband..he might actually commit a major felony because then he'd actually get some........Peeps. He discovered chocolate covered Peeps...I'm hiding the debit card and credit cards....

I'm not a big Peeps fan. But bring on the Cadbury Eggs!

I'm going to go a different direction here and state that "I like peeps". Amen.

"Thank East Bunny! Bok! Bok!"
(Does anyone besides me remember this Cadbury commercial?)

Yuck to both, I used to like peeps when I was really young too. My dad buys me a box every year, even though they just go to waste and I tell him I don't like them.

Veronica, I totally remember that commercial!

I have no idea what a peep is. I guess it is an American sweet we don't have here. But judging by what people are saying they sound ucky!!!!!!!!
I put it down to a moment of bad judgement on your part that you are eating these.

Yes sugar does keep wrinkles away as it makes you fat and round.....like a balloon...well there are not wrinkles on a balloon

much love

When we were first married I did all the Easter candy shopping and was chastised for not buying Peeps. I can't stand them but Ben has to have at least 1 every year, for traditions sake.

Peeps are gross. I can think of lots of other ways to nurture my inner child. Like sticking out my tongue at someone.

I ditto Jennie. Just can't do it.

LAst year I had a peep and it was gross, and I swore I'd never do it again. This year, remembering only the sweet and keep rich flavor of peeps attained in childhood, I once again asked my wife to get peeps, and once again it was pretty sweet-gross. I asked her not to buy them next year, which I'm sure I'll forget. Again.
