A Stupid Mother's Prayer

Today my computer stopped working. My husband (i.e. Tech Support) is out of town. And I can't find the Windows disk to try to reinstall Vista. (Thank goodness my kids have my old, dilapidated laptop still so that at least I can still get online.)

Four days ago I mentioned to my husband that I really should back up all the files on my computer. It's the one place where we keep all our digital photos.

I didn't do it.

God, if you're reading this, please let me be able to get my pictures off. (The saved future blog posts are negotiable.)

Amen.

I'm all about public prayer in times of woe.

Oh yikes! I've been there. We should really act on those backing-up impulses when we have them, huh?

If Tech Support can't get those pictures off, let me know. I have a couple of tricks.

Wahhhhh, I'm going to back up my files right now! Didn't you just get that computer?

Gasp! Oh no... I bought an external hard drive just yesterday and backed up all my stuff because I had the thought about three times last week that I needed to back up. I really hope that you get the pictures back.

If you need help, let me know. One of my brother-in-laws might be able to help you so long as the mother board isn't fried.

And pictures is why I use shutterfly. Want me to send you a link so next time you upload to your pc you upload to them too and get 50 free prints?

Tech Support arrived home last night. After severral hours of trying this and that, my computer is up and running! And was immediately backed up onto an external hard drive.

See, God does answer prayers!

I'm glad you got the pictures back!

Also, I get confused every time I see a comment from "Chuck". I think, "Oh, did I already comment on this?"

It's weird.

I am pleased that you got the computer up and running. I have to say that there are far too many people who have their lives on the computer and never back it up.
I am glad you have now backed it all up. Make sure you keep up with it, you crazy chick you.

much love

Oh man, I would be lost if something happened to my computer!

It's because it's running Windows Vista. Replace it with Windows 7 and (almost) all of your problems will go away.
