HCG Day 9 - Back On Track

This will be brief. I just wanted to say...

YAHOOOEEEE!

I lost 1 lb since yesterday! So my mini carb-binge punishment is over and I am back on track to losing weight. Phew. Those two days of gaining slightly and then not losing SUCKED. Were the carbs worth it in retrospect? Um... YES, duh! But still, I am not going to be doing that again any time soon (well, except on Friday when I might allow myself to eat one piece of birthday cake) and I am glad to be losing again.

(I also feel a bit more confident than some of the smaller cheats I'm doing are not having an ill effect....like using Pam for cooking, adding 1 TBS non-fat yogurt to my smoothy, eating non-approved veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini, and mixing them at a meal, and continuing use of my regular face lotion. )

Goal Weight: Only 9 lbs to go!

Daily Weight Loss: 1 lb!!
Total Weight Loss: 4 lbs

No broccoli? But why?

There is no real rhyme or reason to what veggies you can and can't eat on this diet, other than that the doctor who invented it carefully watched what his patients/clients ate and if they ate certain fruits and veggies, he noiced that they gained weight. I'm not sure why. But you can only eat cabbage, greens, spinach, celery, asparagus, tomatoes, lettuce, chard, fennel, onions, radishes, and cucumbers. Not many there that are hearty and warm. I feel like i'm not really full if I eat cold salad or radishes or cucumbers or celery at every meal. I like a warm, stir fried type veggie. so I cheat. And so far, no ill effects. (Cross fingers).

Face lotion?! What does face cream have to do with your diet? Do you drink it?

You are doing so great! It sounds like your tweaks will really help you stick with it.

What is the deal with the face lotion? Is it because of parabens or something?

Because this diet is so low in fats it causes your body to be highly sensitive to fats, and any fats you eat or which absorb through your skin get stored in your fat reserves. So the official rule is that you don't use any lotions or make up or anything that are oil/fat based. However, the doctor who came up with this diet was in the 1960's when face creams and such were super greasy and fatty. I doubt the make-up and lotions we have now are high in fat. But officially, you're only supposed to use certain creams and lotions and stuff.

WOW face lotions are are off limits. I agree I don' think there are too many fats in our current lotions. but I guess I could be wrong...

I think it's pretty stupid to do this diet when you don't have a lot of weight to lose. Just my opinion.

Zoeymama, why? A diet is a diet. It's not gastric bypass.

Plus, I couldn't do it any other way. I dieted and exercised for 9 months and lost 2 lbs (and gained it back and lost it and gained it back and lost it, etc. ad nauseum). So if this diet is what I need to actually lose my last few lbs, why is it a problem?
