Economic Pick-me-up

It's nice to know that in this time of financial instability and doomy economic forecasts that our tax dollars are hard at work.

For example, the city hired out a construction company to do put in new high pressure irrigation in our city. Well, they finished on my street about 3 weeks ago. And yet this truck still goes up and down my street a couple of times an hour brushing all the dust up into the air.

And then this truck comes along and sprays it all back down to the ground.

A few hours later, the dust is dry and they can begin again.

Thanks for helping out, AF City. It's comforting to know that you are making the most of our resources while times are tough.

Hey, that's like two whole people who are employed! It's a grass-roots effort, I guess.

I'm sure there are some federal air quality requirements that they are trying to follow or something. But hey, at least your road has the appearance of being clean a few minutes a day.

I guarantee whatever kind of air quality measures sweeping and watering my street are trying to help, they are being negated by the diesel fumes those trucks give off.

See, the economic pick me up is that they created jobs for 2 otherwise jobless people. :)

I had similar thoughts when I saw 2 trucks parked on the side of a street near my house, with five men gathered around working on something. They were fixing the pedestrian crossing signal. Yeah, that sounds like a five-person job!

Completed September. That was a long one! Just had to make that a comment to add to my tally.
