Random Musings About Weight Loss

Several things have occurred to me in the last couple of days, since my weight is down about 7 lbs...

-It is really cool to take out and fit into clothes you haven't fit into in years.

- It is even more awesome to take out a pair of pants you haven't fit into in years and find a $20 bill in the pocket!!!

- It is sad when you take out pants that suddenly fit you that you used to love when you bought them years ago only to find that the style is no longer "in." Crapity.

- It is nice when your gut no longer hangs way out over your belt.

- It is nice when your belt sits a hole tighter.

- It is sad when your boobs have shrunk a cup smaller.

-It is exciting to find that you have the self-control to not eat dessert three times a day.

- It is sad when a Worthers sugar-free caramel tastes like the most delicious dessert you've ever eaten.

-It is exciting to know I weigh less than when I got married.

-It is sad to know that my diet ends in a week and I still have 6 1/2 lbs to go to reach the weight I was when I started college.

-It is exciting to think that in one week I can eat cheese and eggs and bacon again!

- It is sad that pancakes are still off the menu for another month. REALLY sad.

- It is nice that some people will comment, and offer encouragement, and share their own stories about losing weight.

- It is sad that so many people can be discouraging about someone trying to do something to help themself lose weight.

- It is worth it to know that I can do something that took a lot of self-control and determination because I wanted to feel good about myself and look good for my man.

I'm up for sharing an encouraging story, and I've enjoyed yours, as well.

Two years ago you and your sister got me interested in Weight Watchers. Both of you quit after awhile, but I stuck to it because it made more sense to my scientific mind than any other diet ever had.

Two years ago I weighed about 160 lbs, which was MOUNTAINS more than a shrimp ever should weigh. And older women do lose weight a LOT slower (as all of you have noticed by now.) But in spite of Christmas and Thanksgiving feasts and occasional binges, I am finally down to 138 - and still going for it!

If I can do it, even at about a pound a month, it CAN BE DONE. Even if you're old, you can do it!

Why are the boobs always the first things to go? WHY?!?!

My boobs have shrunk too :( Thats the one part that I like being extra-sized. And about the people who are discouraging, they're just jealous because they don't have the will power to lose the weight themselves. Keep it up!

And I agree with Christie that the people who discourage you are jealous and/or have their own issues with food and your success makes them uncomfortable. Do what makes you happy and don't worry about them!

I have lost a whole dress size and am so happy about it.
However I have another one to go and that's sad.

Well done you for keeping up with it all and doing so blooming well on it as well.

I guess we will both get to where we want to be soon.
I don't know about you but the sooner the better.

Keep going girl, we will laugh about it all soon.

much love
Lia

I admire your self-control and determination. And your ability to count calories, which I can't seem to bring myself to do.

I wish I could lose a cup size. I hate boob weight.

I am very impressed! I am really not sure if I would have the self control right now. And I really don't think I could ever weigh less than I did when I got married...sigh... You're doing great!

I've loved reading about your hcg diet! It's much easier to read about someone's diet than to be on one myself!
