Top 10 Reasons Not to Hyphenate Your Last Name

We were watching Leno tonight and he did some of those wedding announcements where the names are hyphenated. They are real wedding announcments from real newspapers.

For example: Announcing the...
Flem-Greene wedding
Schmidt-Head wedding
Makin-Peeples wedding
Staples-Bottoms wedding
Puls-Johnson wedding
Nutter-Boner wedding
Fillerup-Standing wedding
Beaver-Aiken wedding
Smelley-Farkus wedding

And along those same lines, but add cheesy music and subtitles...

If I had a last name that sounded that bad with HIS last name, I just wouldn't marry him.

We do have the Ashhurst-McGees in our ward, and everyone calls all of them by their full last name. Unwieldy!

So funny! My friends sister's announcement was on Leno long time ago. Her last name was Butt, but I can't remember his last name. The girls in the family were all excited to change their names when they got married! LOL!
