Crappity Crap Crap!

So I was leaving work just now (I part-time it in a real estate office once a week) and as I was backing out of my spot, I hear a CRUNCH. Yes, an accident. And I'm not sure who is at fault. It was one of the first spots, right up by the street. My spot was parallel to the street. I looked behind me, no one was there. Then all of the sudden I hear the crash. Turns out another realtor's wife had pulled in behind me from the street as I was backing out. The confusing part was that she wasn't there when I looked. She had to have come in very fast. In fact, she told me she saw me backing out but didn't have time to honk or anything. She just cruised in behind me and I hit her back fender. I'm not sure who is at fault. Maybe me. But because she came in off the street, how could I have seen her before she was there? Plus I was already 2/3 out of my spot when she came in behind me. Like she was trying to squeek in behind me even though I was already part-way out. The police came. He said it's a no fault state, and private property, so they don't make any determination of guilt. Our insurance companies will have to battle it out to determine who was at fault. Even then, even if one of us is found at fault, I'm not sure what happens then. Do my rates get jacked up? UGH. Plus now my back kind of hurts. Is it possible to hurt your back when only going 1 mile per hour? What a horrible stupid thing. It just ruins my day.

What a bummer! That totally sucks. She must have really buzzed right in behind you!

Fault, definatly hers.. How can you make someone believe it's your fault when she was cruizin' for a bruizin'

Oh man, that sucks! I have no idea how the insurance companies determine rates, but I hope yours don't go up! And yes, you can injure your back even at really slow speeds, that's what happened to me when I was rear ended - we were stopped and the car behind us was only going about 10 MPH. I was in physical therapy for months. If you're still feeling sore tomorrow make sure you go to the doctor.

They should make those disposable, because I have wrecked my bumper area about 8 times by now.

So sorry. Nothing ruins a day like a fender bender. (Except totalling your car. That would be worse.)

Oh no! I'm so sorry! :( I hate it when dumb things happen. Your back might be hurting because of stress from the accident. Take some Tylenol and try to sleep tonight. If it still hurts tomorrow you may want to be seen. :(

I say her fault, all the way.

i'm gonna be the debbie downer and tell you FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE that you should both just claim it on your own insurance and leave each other alone. the rbc had this exact same thing happen to him in the mall parking lot about 2 years ago and it was a hopeless cause.
our rates didn't go up because it was the first claim he'd had in a while....but then he wrecked again this summer and they like doubled over night. awesome.

sorry, lady.

I think it is her fault too, but it sucks either way!

This sucks. Just DON'T pay the bill or else they will just figure that it was your fault - that happened to my husband.

Those kinds of incidents are perfect day ruiners.
