Imposter

I have not done very well on the eating portion of my diet plan this time around. Acually, I haven't done super well at the exercise portion either. Ok, so I've pretty much been sucking at dieting altogether. Not being on Weight Watchers isn't really working out so well. But I figured if I could at least sort of change my eating habits, I might be able to get away with minimal exercise (which I pretty much hate doing). But I guess I've gotten into such a bad habit of eating whatever I want and drinking whatever I want, that I just can't seem to break it. I have improved slightly recently. Like, instead of eating whatever strikes my fancy for breakfast, lunch, and dinner--say, pancakes and sausage for breakfast, a smothered steak burrito with a Coke for lunch, and cheese tortellini with creamy pesto and garlic bread and another Coke for dinner--plus a snack, some hot vanilla, and dessert after each meal (No, I'm not even close to kidding about that being my standard food consumption over the last 6 months), I've cut down to cereal for breakfast, a Lean Cuisine and grapes for lunch, one Coke nursed throughout the day, a couple pieces of almond rocca for dessert, a Kashi fruit and grain bar for a snack, something homecooked but not necessarily lower calorie for dinner, and a Smart Ones brownie sundae for dessert. So ya, it is a reduction of calories. But I still am not eating what I should be. Not what it's going to take to see an actual losss on the scale this week. Soooo....today I decided to do something drastic.....

WAAAAAAAAHHHHH! Every time I take a sip, I want to cry. Not that it tastes that bad. Actually, Coke Zero is surprisngly good. For a diet drink. But it's not the same. It's like ordering Filet Mignon and getting a plate of ground beef. Not awful. Just not the necter of the gods. But I have to try to shave off a couple hundred calories a day somehow. Or I'm going to have to run them off. And I guess at this point I'd rather go for the plate of ground beef. But not literally. Cause that would probably add the calories back on.

(Mmmmm....ground beef.....)

I'm forcing Mtn Dew down my gullet. I don't cry anymore about it being diet, but I do still fantasize about full sugar.

I had to switch to Diet when I gest diabetes with my second. I hated it too. Eventually (a long eventually) I got used to it and it satisfies that need to have something flavored to drink. It will get easier to willingly order over time.

POVRECITO!

I LOVE diet! It doesn't taste like syrup! And it doesn't dry sticky on the car floor when it spills. And if it's Mountain Dew, you can't see it on your bosom when you spill it while driving and suddenly have to stop.

Good for you on making the desperate switch to the imposter.
I myself, really have to remind myself "NO MAN COKE!"

Oh, I LOVE Coke Zero!
I really don't have a problem with soda at all. My husband on the other hand drinks like 70 ounces a day!

I have the diet blahs too. Didnt sign up for WW, but I'm doing it anyway with the recent material I got last year...

I know its not the greatest of things, but fat free sugar free chocolate pudding is pretty satisfying too. You can whip a whole box up for 6 points.. And thats only if you eat the whole darn box..

Kenny likes Coke Zero...he says the cherry vanilla coke zero is good...but I HATE it! I can't even drink regular Coke anymore. It's way too sweet for me. And, I love that when I spill Diet Coke, nothing is sticky. I did switch to Caffeine Free Diet Coke a couple of years ago because Caffeine hurts my stomach, and I can't even tell the difference now between it and regular Diet Coke. At first I thought it was like drinking sugar water, but now, mmmm...D-licious.

Sorry, but I'm a Pepsi gal and I have been mixing Pepsi with Diet Pepsi for about a year now, trying to cut down----sigh...

I just started the Flat Belly Diet on Monday---its not too bad, and you get to eat yogurt and semi-sweet chocolate chips, so I can handle it. I also recommend the fat free sugar free pudding---it is DELICIOUS! I put some cool whip on it and oh---it is so nice...

I wish that I could eat what I want, but I haven't been able to since I started the "change" in my life----heh, heh---you know what I'm talking about.

Good luck!

Luckily, I actually don't like sugary soda - I actually like the diet better. But I'm with you on the rest of your diet - I actually got hungry reading about your typical menu for the day. I love food - dieting sucks (but being fat sucks more I suppose).

I'm sure drinking one non-diet drink a day is ok, but when you down a 12-pack like I could, the situation is a little heavier. Good luck on changing your activity level and food choices.
