Trim Your Bush! (not a metaphor)

You may think this post is about this:

Or this:

But it's not. Get your mind out of the gutter! What kind of a blog do you think this is? This kind? No. This kind? Certainly not! This kind? Ok, maybe it is the kind of blog you think it is. But today my blog is truly pristine. It's about a genuinely unruly bush. This one:

In fact all of these:

But after several hours of back-breaking pruning, the final result is much more pleasing...

BEFORE

AFTER

See, nothing like trimming some unruly bushes into a nice straight landing strip. Er... racing stripe. Crap! Back in the gutter for me.

It took you hours!? What were you trimming with, nail clippers? You definitely need to get an electric hedge trimmer.

I saw those bikini shavers and laughed pretty hard about it. Your bush(es) look much better :)

Woo-Hoo! Great job!

I used to have to do this on round freakin shrubberies that we had in Texas----whoever invented these things?

Seems like it might have been easier trimming your other bush. Or you could have just cut them all down for a smoother appearance...though my guess is that wouldn't be the look you were going for.

Hi, I'm a reporter doing a story for the Toronto Star on cardio theaters at the gym. Saw your blog post from May, would love to ask you a couple questions on your experience. Please email me at ploriggio@gmail.com
Thanks,

Man, Ari, I sure do learn a lot of new things from your blog! And the bushes look great cubed, too.

I didn't even get the reference to the "tree looking taller with the bushes trimmed" part of the Gillette Ad until one of your savvier buddies slapped me awake!

(Gasp, choke!) We single, naive grandmothers aren't used to this kind of information!
