I have run the gambit (what does that mean anyway?) of products for my children to eat off of. First it was paper plates, but we went through those too fast. Then my husband got some plastic tray thingies, kind of like the ones you ate school lunch off of with the compartments for different parts of the meal, but they were way cuter. Transparent and with a smiley face and eyes for the compartments. But there were only two, so I had to wash them after every meal or wait for the next round of the dishwasher. Then my husband was at Ikea a few weeks ago and found these little gems...
They're perfect! They're just the right size for a kid-sized meal, they can go in the microwave and dishwasher, they stack and store easily, and they're small enough to shove in all kinds of small cracks between the regular dishes in the dishwasher. And at $1.99/6pack, you can't beat the price! Just thought I'd pass it on for any moms looking to add a touch of class and beauty to their table.

I have several sets of the plates, bowls and utensils! They get a workout at our house :)
I'm sticking with paper. Who cares about treating the earth nicely when it means I've got three loads of dishes to run each day? I'm all over disposable anything!
That is a great idea. I will have to check them out next time I am up there.
You are so 1 year behind on recommending these. I think every Mom in Utah bought these when Ikea opened last May. Also, class? ha
So I read the first few lines of this post on Google Reader and thought, "I should tell her about those Ikea plates and bowls." But I don't need to! LOL I love them, I just wish I had bought more last time I was there.
Oh yeah! I love them! We also use the bowls and utensils at every meal! And I ask Josh which color he wants (do you want the blue plate or the yellow plate for lunch?). It gives him a choice and keeps him practicing his colors :)
Funny - we just went to Ikea on Saturday and got some of their cups for the kids. We ate lunch there, and commented on how nice they were, so now we own several sets!
those look great because they look like they would stack perfectly...that's my trouble with all the random stuff my kids eat from!
I could have written that post myslef! Except I found the IKEA plastic ware, not my husband. I have the plates, cups, bolws & utensils.... another set is on my list of things to get while I'm in town.
I don't love the utensils. He bought those too, but they are a bit long for my kids. Also, my kids haven't graduated from sippy cups yet, but when they do, I bet the IKEA cups will show up in my house as well.
"Utensils" is a strange word.
I probably look like a kid restaurant because I have the plates, bowls, cups & utensils - they are the best!
You probably meant "run the gamut." Idioms are a fun hobby of mine.
