Oh How Lovely Was The Morning

When we first moved into this house, it was very late fall verging on winter. The first thing I did, before unpacking boxes or cleaning the house or setting up furniture, was plant my bulbs. A certain someone in the family thought I might be slightly crazy to do this before even finding the toilet paper and towels. But I knew if I didn't get those bulbs in the ground immediately, most likely, we'd have no flowers coming up in the spring. I wasn't taking any chances. I'm still not sure he cares as much about the flowers as he does about toilet paper, but I'm pretty happy with my choice...

So here are a few more pictures of some of the lovely things growing in my flower garden .....

Snowdrops

Tall salmon-pink tulips

Close up

Lilacs, my favorite

While lilacs, finally blooming! (It's their third year after planting)

Tulips, tulips, and more tulips!

Ahh, spring time. What chu got?

I LOVE the tulips. For my friend's bridal shower, we did fuschia and orange tulips. Gorgeous!

You are one smart lady. Beautiful flowers. I want flowers, but I'm not inclined to do anything about it. Good for you.

Those tulips are beautiful!! And I love the snowdrops as well. I planted some lilies last year and I can't wait for them to bloom in the Summer. Their foliage is up beautiful and strong. I'm so excited.

I got lots of perennials that the woman who owns the house planted a few years back---but sadly, they are not as beautiful as yours---WOW!!

I'm soooo impressed and not worthy...

We had a very early warm up so my bulbs all came up then we had a few more freezes so not a single flower this year. It really bummed me out.

I love it. And I'm the same way about planting my stuff. My dad once gave me a whole bag of tulip bulbs one night at Sunday dinner. Well - I was so excited to get them into the ground, that I came home and planted them that very night. In the dark. With a flashlight. Ben told me to stop - he was worried the neighbors might think I was burying a body or something.

All of your flowers are making me jealous since we have such a lack of color in our yard.
