Winner Winner Soap Dinner

Ok, so I drew names today for the winners of my soap giveaway. You may have noticed that its not Friday at midnight or even Saturday morning. No, it's Sunday night and I'm just getting to it. Lazy. I hope no one was holding their breath all weekend. If so, you're probably dead now. Sorry about that. I will speak kindly of you at your funeral.

OK, so, using the random name generator, the winners are...

1) Jen at How To Drink Hot Tea
2) Rychelle at The Better To Stalk You With, My Dear
3) Appalachian Woman

Congratulations, ladies! I'll be sending you an email tomorrow with the options for your soaps. You can check out my last soap post to see the ones I already posted, or you can see some more options for shapes, colors, and scents tomorrow. Please make sure I have an email address for you. You can send it to hot booty mama at gmail dot com.

Thanks to everyone for playing!

(Yay! I get to make soaps!)

Giveaway!

Yes, it's true. I'm going to do a giveaway. And I'll admit right now that this is actually a self-serving giveaway because it will benefit me as much as you.

Most of you know I make soaps. Cute little designer soaps. Well, I bought a bunch of new soap supplies a few months back and I still haven't tried them out. So this giveaway is really an excuse for me to get to use my new stuff. So here's how it will work:

I will give 3 lucky winners their choice of five (5) made-to-order, one of a kind, custom-made soaps. You can choose your scents from about 4 dozen choices that I have. You can choose your color(s) from about a dozen new no-bleed shades I just bought. And I will give you several options on the molds cause I have some new ones that I want to try.

Here are some examples of the types of soaps I make...

Pink Sugar Dragonflies

Oatmeal, Milk & Honey

Lemonade Bars

Lemon, Currant, and Sweet Grass

Autumn Spiced Leaves (Opaque bottom)

Autumn Spiced Leaves (Opaque top)

Peppermint Pig & Friends

Juicy Pear Squares

Fresh Mango

Honey Bars (Glycerin and Goat's Milk bases)

Cranberry Fig Swirl

Tuscan Bars

Art Deco Christmas Bar & Cherry Vanilla Swirl

Cinnamon-Hazelnut Christmas Stars (No, they're not breast implants with pasties)

Lemon Drop Bar

Those are just a few examples. The possibilities are nearly endless. So if you're interested in having soaps made to match your kitchen or bathroom, for giving away as stocking stuffers, or to have as seasonal decor accents, just leave a comment to this post before Friday, October 18th, at midnight. I will draw the winners' names at midnight and post them by Saturday morning. Then the three winners can let me know what kind of soaps they'd like.

Good luck! And thanks for letting me use you as my guinnea pigs.

*I have noticed that a few of you who have commented are lurkers or newbies (Hi!) and don't have blogs or email addresses attatched to your user name. So please leave an email address if I don't already know you so that I can contact you when you win. Thanks!*

Body Parts For Sale

I am so thrilled about the nice weather lately. It has actually motivated me to get out and garden, walk, and ride. There is a problem with the riding though. My bike only has one seat. And I have two kids. So when I saw a picture of this:

I thought, "Man does that little boy have an outdated hair cut!" But THEN I thought, "HOW CUTE IS THAT BIKE???" In light blue!?! I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It's so perfect for a mom with two small kids who always want to ride the bike with her but can't unless they plan on doing one of those Bernstien Bears type arrangements. And I could actually win it! (Have you had enough of me talking about contests yet? Sorry. I guess it's that giveaway time of year. Not Christmas. That OTHER giveaway time of year.) Fortunately, you don't have to do anything to help me. I've helped myself just by linking to the site from my blog. Right HERE.

Madsen Cycles Cargo Bikes

Still, feel free to click over and see this gorgeous bike for yourself. Or even enter the contest yourself, if you feel you must try to steal my dreams.

I think it's only fair that you know one thing about me and this bike, though. If I win, you will never see me riding a bike in a skirt and dress shoes. I don't live in The Sound Of Music, you know. If that's what you're after, you better just win the bike yourself. But other than that, this WILL be me. Even if I have to sell my body to get one. Ummmm....maybe not my whole body. Just part. Like a lung. Or a kidney. Anyone in the market for a kidney?

Mia, thanks for linking me to this contest at your friend's blog. If I win this bike, I will give you a free ride in the bucket part of this bike. Aren't I so generous?

If You Love Me And You Know it, Clap Your Hands

Actually, what I want you to do if you love me and you know it is...VOTE! In a completely unselfish act of love, I'm promoting my sister Jennie's entry into the contest to win the scrapbooking desk I blogged about a couple of days ago. She entered her cake that I blogged about yesterday as her cutest craft. Now she needs votes. YOUR votes. Your FRIENDS' votes. Your friends' friends' families' coworkers' cousins' neighbors' votes. So, please, if you love me, take this opportunity to go to this link and vote for entry #330, the cake with the gorgeous flowers on top that looks like this:

And if she wins, I will make each and every one of you a replica of that cake. Just kidding. We've already established that I can't decorate cakes like that. But Jennie will make each and every one of you a replica of that cake. Right, Jennie? Ok, maybe I'm totally lying about that too. But just vote. You have nothing else to do for the next 30 seconds anyway, right?

THANKS!

p.s. If you REALLY love me, you can put the contest link and picture on your blog and get Jennie 50 BONUS VOTES!!! Just let me know you did it so we can link it. You are so awesome. Really.

And The Winner Is....

I am back from out of town. It will take me most of the day, I'm sure, to get caught up, write about my surprise party, birthday, and weekend getaway. So check in later for those. In the meantime, I used very amazing technology to determine the winner of my birthday contest. It consisted of writing down everyone's name who commented on my blog in March, then writing down everyone's name who commented on my birthday. Then my husband picked a number between 1 and 82 (the total number of entries). It was #51. Then I counted to 51 and...

the winner is
SHANNA!
A.K.A. "SO"
From "Just So"

And she wins this:

Congratulations, Shanna! Just email your mailing address to me at coldfingers1 at hotmail dot com and your package will soon be on its way!

As for the rest of you, thanks for your comments and support, and for making my birthday so awesome. It was really fun having so many people wish me a happy birthday. Last year I think I got about 4 phone calls on my birthday and 1 or 2 emails. This year, it was about 5 times that. So thank you!

(Note to those of you with upcoming birthdays: advertising your birthday on the internet is a great move. Having a giveaway on your birthday? BRILLIANT.)

And even if you don't have need for a tutu (and I really can't imagine this scenerio), just pop over and take a look at her header photo....her girls have the most gorgeous hair you've ever seen! Can I get that in a giveaway? Cause I'm THERE.

Calling All Chef's - It's a Give-Away (a la Kelli)

So my friend Kelli over at The Ray Family is doing a fun giveaway. It's a cooking competition, of sorts. She's looking for new recipes to try and then post on her recipe blog "www.ihatecookingbutlovetoeat.blogspot.com". Why she's doing it while suffering serious morning sickness and wanting to puke, I have no idea. (Why are you doing it now, Kelli?), but who am I to argue with a pregnant woman? We all know what happens if you do that. (If you don't, ask my husband). So go on over and check it out. She won't say what the prize is, but who cares, right? It's really about the glory of winning anyway, isn't it? Besides, I happen to know that Kelli has excellent taste in prizes.

May the best chef (ME) win!

I Won! I Won! Actually, I Guess I Didn't.

I entered a blog give away on Suzanne's blog this month and I actually won! There's a caveat, though. Her give-away is a Give-away/Give-away. Meaning, I won, but the prize has to go to someone else.

The someone else is my sister, Jennie. And she is going to LOVE this present. L, double O, V, E it. Wait, that spells loove. Well, whatever. She is going to loove it too.

If you want to see what I/she won, click here. Unless you're Jennie. Then don't. Because it would make Jesus very sad if you cheated.

Thanks, Suzanne. You are talented AND generous. How Christmasy of you.

M

Who doesn't love free stuff? Well, I discovered this weekend when helping my mom empty out her storage unit that some stuff isn't worth having, even if it's free. I must confess that a few items she marked for the "D.I. pile" ended up in the "To the Dump pile." Sorry, Mom.

But this post is about free stuff you actually WANT! Like, oh, say, a free iPod Shuffle. How does that sound? Sweet, I know. So if you want to enter to win it, clickity click yourself on over to Tiburon's blog. You'll be entered to win every time you comment. Tiburon will be having her 1000th post some time at the end of this month--unless she steps it up and starts doing 10 posts a day like a true blogging champoin that she is, in which case it'll be sometime this week. No, just trying to freak her out.-- Anywho, she is giving the iPod away as a thank you to her supporters and a bribe to all her blurkers. Be one or the other or be square.

p.s. If you can tell me why this post is called "M" I will reward you by telling you that you are super smart.
