Seeing Signs

I was at the Fashion Place Mall the other day. I have to say, they have a very nice bathroom area in the food court. REALLY nice, actually. It reminded me of something from a nice hotel, with a lounge area full of modern art and leather couches outside the restrooms and granite counters and large stalls within. They had a family bathroom with a mini toilet for kids. They even had a room dedicated just to nursing mothers. Only one thing kind of struck me as odd about this bathroom area...

I don't think whoever made this sign really gets how breastfeeding works. It usually involves BOOBS, People. Not doobs, boobs. But whatever. I guess any men who'd like to take over the nursing for us women are more than welcome to it!

Maybe it's a movement for more "gender equality."

:P

Hilarious!. Can't blame a guy for trying.

I walked into the ladies restroom, and I overheard a woman telling her husband to take their child in to change him, but the changing table was only in the women's bathroom, and she got angry. Maybe this is what they are trying to do?

Oh dear! Someone should address that. It's just weird. At least change the text. "Nursing/Baby Care"?

It's always bothered me that the changing tables are normally found in the mens room. And I hated that there weren't more places to nurse when I was doing that. I always liked the accomodations at South Town mall.

And men actually can lactate and even breastfeed, though it's rare.

It gets weirder.

Interestingly enough, sometimes the lines between gender and anatomy are more blurred than people think. Especially during the development of a fetus.

Amy, I LOVE the family bathrooms at South Town mall! I think I will go there when I have my baby just so I can make use of the awesome nursing room!

That's funny, because just the other day I was thinking how unfair it is that guys don't have a place to go feed their kids. I absolutely plan on letting him do all the bottle feedings.
